Third Time Lucky at Galway for Tasman
He won three times in his days with King of Ballybrit, Dermot Weld, but Tasman hadn't scored at Galway until today on his third visit to the venue and now under the care of Liam McAteer, the chestnut landed the Guinness Beginners Chase under Barry Geraghty. Thu 31st Jul
He ran a binder in the Troytown, he was badly hampered by the winner four from home. I couldn't believe he was such a big price here today. We're after dropping him back in trip a bit now. We're in no hurry with him, Andrew is mad to go for the Topham Chase at Aintree. We'll try and find something for him over the Christmas. He's a horse that doesn't take a lot of work, he's a joy to train and he's well minded at home. Hopefully the handicapper won't be too hard on us after that. He's a fabulous jumper.

A lot of praise must go to Andrew Lynch who is out injured. He schooled this horse extensively at home. We won't be in a hurry to run him again and we'll just enjoy today. Marie Cusack, the owner, lost her husband, John, through serious illness last year so I'm delighted for her.
