Lynch wins aboard Tasman

Sun 6th Dec 2009, 15:30

The Weatherbys Ireland GSB Handicap Chase caused somewhat of a surprise after 12/1 shot Tasman came in front under Andrew Lynch.

Winning trainer Liam McAteer said afterwards: “He ran a binder in the Troytown, he was badly hampered by the winner four from home.”

“I couldn’t believe he was such a big price here today. We’re after dropping him back in trip a bit now.”

“We’re in no hurry with him, Andrew is mad to go for the Topham Chase at Aintree. We’ll try and find something for him over the Christmas.”

“He’s a horse that doesn’t take a lot of work, he’s a joy to train and he’s well minded at home.”

“Hopefully the handicapper won’t be too hard on us after that. He’s a fabulous jumper.”
