Robert said he was way too keen, so it was a good performance. We are going to keep him on the Flat until Christmas and then he is going to go over hurdles in Leopardstown on the third day over Christmas. He is going to try 2m4f over hurdles. He'll probably have a break then and we'll see what happens. We trained him in the summer last year and he suffered from allergies, but he doesn't really like soft ground so it is tricky.

my horses haven't been running well due to a low-grade virus and it's only over the last seven or eight days that they have run well. This horse actually suffers from allergies, lives in the field and I think he got away with it. I think it could be dust-related - there was a lot of barley cut beside me recently and whether or not it's a coincidence or not I'm not sure. But a few ran better in the last few days.

I think the surface is riding a bit slower now, he didn't quite enjoy it last year. I think he is a different horse mentally now and enjoying life a bit more. I kind of had him down as more of a National Hunt horse - I didn't expect him to do that. I expected him to do that before now but maybe he has just changed all round. He wasn't meant to (have a spell in Dundalk for the winter) but I'm sure there will be one more, I'm a bit greedy! He'll be mainly for Killarney's and stuff next year going chasing, we would love to win a nice chase with him next year.
