Touch wood the horses seem to be back in good form. . I’d say this lad needed the run at Bellewstown mentally as much as anything else. . He ended up on the vet's list. We had to medicate him a few times and every time he goes to the races now he has to trot up. Hopefully the fact that he’s winning now, it might be easier to get him off it. . He has plenty of mileage and wear and tear but has been a brilliant servant to us.

He goes well, he's just a good horse. He got bogged down in the Curragh last week (when sixth) and ran into a bit of traffic and then that was it. To be honest, if it was that ground at declarations I wouldn't have bothered declaring him. Jamie just let him roll on and didn't break his stride. I have to give Kevin O'Ryan credit, there wasn't many apprentices left by the time that we decided that we were going to declare him. He said if I gave Jamie the ride on Tawaazon, he would go here. He was supposed to go to Limerick.

He has surprised us. I mean, to be fair, we had got our eye on him and I said that the last time he won, but not to that extent. We literally just dropped him back to five furlongs because he travelled so easily over six the last day. Colin had said he would be worth a shot at five. They went a fair pace and it looked a hot race on paper. He surprised me. Denis (Hogan) and I get on really well and I asked Denis a couple of days after I got him about him feeling like a proper horse and did he do that down there. He said sure that's why they kept him so long. He always promised it and just didn't deliver. It is just possible that sprinting might be his gig.

it wasn't even the intention to be so handy and I had my script ready for Colin when he came in, saying 'the apprentices can hold him and there you are getting run away with!' . We are on a run at present as we claimed Inflection Point last week and he won on his next start and we have had our eye on this lad for a while before claiming him last week. He beat one of mine and was also second to Tai Sing Yeh and is a grand horse. Today was similar to Inflection Point's win last week as we only have him and he has only hacked away at home so we haven't done a whole lot with him. It is great to get the double and while Pub Talk was claimed, we ran 12 horses today and ten picked up money. We will have plenty up here next Thursday - the staff are moaning about Cheltenham but sure they nearly live here!
