An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong involving Caen Na Coille (USA), placed sixth, ridden by James Doyle; Sonnet Rose (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Sebastian Woods; the winner, Spanish Mane (IRE), ridden by Shelley Birkett and Dubai Elegance (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Noel Garbutt.
The interference was found to be accidental as Spanish Mane (IRE) lugged left at the same time as Sonnet Rose shifted slightly right, causing both Caen Na Coille (USA) and Dubai Elegance (GB) to be checked in their runs.
The winner, Spanish Mane (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Newmarket on 19 July 2019, where the filly finished last of eleven, beaten 37 lengths.
Julia Feilden explained that Spanish Mane (IRE) benefitted from making the running today and may have appreciated the removal of the hood, which the filly may not have faced last time out.
Spanish Mane (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Toby Eley reported that Chloellie (GB), placed third, hung left under pressure and the representative of Roger Varian reported that Backstreet Girl (IRE), placed seventh, didn’t stay the 7f trip on this occasion.
