Permission was given for Lil Guff (GB) to wear a red hood to post, and for Lord Rapscallion (IRE) to be mounted in the chute.
Rocking Ends (GB), unplaced, was carried wide rounding the final bend by Dream For Gold (IRE), placed second, which was hanging badly right-handed, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Dream For Gold (IRE).
The winner, Indian Creak (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Goodwood on 11 June 2023, on going described as Good, Good to Firm in places, where the gelding finished last of six, beaten by 16 lengths.
Jack Channon explained that Indian Creak (IRE) appreciated the Good to Soft, Good in places going on this occasion, and a return to Epsom where the gelding has run well previously; his explanation was noted and Indian Creak (IRE) was routine tested.
