Permission was given for Crystal Carole (GB) and Mungo's Quest (IRE) to wear red hoods to the start.

Willingly (GB), trained by Mark Usher, ran without its declared tongue-strap, which had come adrift in the stalls and was unable to be refitted prior to the start, as the trainer had not indicated at declaration stage that the filly should be withdrawn in the event of the tongue-strap coming loose before the start.

The representative of the trainer subsequently reported that Willingly (GB)’s performance was not affected by running without its declared tongue-strap.

Mojambo (IRE), trained by Daniel O'Brien, ran without its declared tongue-strap, which had come adrift in the stalls and was unable to be refitted prior to the start, as the trainer had not indicated at declaration stage that the mare should be withdrawn in the event of the tongue-strap coming loose before the start.

The trainer subsequently reported that Mojambo (IRE)’s performance was not affected by running without its declared tongue-strap.

The winner, Junoesque (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Chelmsford City on 7 November 2020 where the mare finished ninth of fourteen, beaten by 12¼ lengths.

John Gallagher’s explanation that Junoesque (GB) had benefitted from a change in training regime which included being schooled over hurdles at home, was noted.

Junoesque (GB) was routine tested.

Following the race, Silvestre De Sousa reported that Arabescato (GB), placed second, hung badly left- handed.

Rhiain Ingram reported that Yagood (IRE), unplaced, was never travelling; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding shortly after the race failed to reveal any abnormalities.
