An average handicap won in a driving finish by MELODY STAR, on her seasonal reapparance. The filly had been knocking on the door on occasions and was gaining a deserved success. According to trainer Niall Moran, the winner is likely to run in another handicap here next.

Runner-up COSMO KING was expected to win and looked potentially well-in on his hurdle form. However, having attempted to make all, he was headed inside the final furlong but failed narrowly. He does look capable of winning Flat handicaps, even from slightly higher marks.

MORE VOTES won twice from lower marks in '06 and looked to have arrived with every chance inside the final furlong but was just held. He failed to quicken at the crucial stage but cannot be ruled out in similar races.

GOLDEN BANJO has an undistinguished record but posted a much improved effort here and is possibly open to further improvement from his low mark while an identical comment applies to JOLEAHS STAR.

Non-Runners were Wings Of Dawn (temperature), Eritrea (stiff) and a reserve.
