Prior to this race, Sheila Lewis was asked to explain why she was running Stupid Cupid (IRE) here at Ludlow on going described as Soft, Heavy in places, having reported that the mare was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Soft, Heavy in places, and would prefer a quicker surface when pulled up at Hereford on 14 December 2019.
The trainer’s explanation that the owner was keen to run Stupid Cupid (IRE) on this occasion with opportunities running out for the mare, was noted.
