C.D. Maxwell, rider of Ashbourne Allstar trained by Patrick Rooney, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a respiratory noise from half way. S.W. Flanagan, rider of Princess Lara trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left throughout this race. A.E. Lynch, rider of Cancellation trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped poorly, got tired and was pulled up. The Stewards interviewed S.W. Flanagan, rider of Princess Lara, concerning his use of the whip when racing away from the stands. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that S.W. Flanagan was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with his arm above shoulder height and R10(4) by failing to give his mount time to respond to the whip. Having taken his previous record into consideration and furthermore allowing for exceptional circumstances the Stewards suspended S.W. Flanagan for one raceday .
