The winner BON CHIC (IRE) appeared to show an improvement in form, compared with its previous run at Aintree on 28 October 2018, where the mare finished twelfth of sixteen beaten 48 lengths. James Moffatt explained that the mare had benefited from a drop in class on this occasion. His explanation was noted and BON CHIC (IRE) was routine tested. Following the race, Tristan Davidson reported that RUBENESQUE (IRE), placed seventh, was unsuited by the Heavy ground on this occasion and would prefer a sounder surface.
