On the bend leaving the back straight, The Vollan (IRE), placed second, lost its position when tightened for room between Havana Hermano (IRE), placed third, which edged slightly left-handed at the same time as the winner Honor Grey (IRE) lugged right-handed.
However, after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of any horse.
The performance of Vive Le Roi (IRE) which started second favourite but finished unplaced, was considered.
The representative of Tony Carroll explained that the gelding appeared to have been unsuited by the Good ground which was riding on the quicker side and would prefer more ease underfoot, and also added that Vive Le Roi (IRE) did not jump as fluently today on this, his first start over fixed brush hurdles.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Vive Le Roi (IRE), during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, Jamie Hamilton reported that Flint Hill (GB), placed sixth, hung left.
