Permission was given for Probable (GB) to wear a red hood in the preliminaries.
Rounding the first bend, Downtown Dubai (IRE), placed third, hung quickly right taking The Pug (IRE), placed second, and the winner Gilded Moon (GB), notably off their intended lines.
However, viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of any horse.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong, when Downtown Dubai (IRE), placed third, ridden by Daniel Muscutt, interfered with Probable (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Luke Morris.
Muscutt cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left without sufficient correction, causing Morris to take a precautionary check.
Following the race, Daniel Muscutt reported that Downtown Dubai (IRE), placed third, hung both ways.
