An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong when Western Symphony (IRE), placed second, ridden by Ryan Moore, interfered with the winner, Pride Of England (GB), ridden by Adam Kirby.
The interference was found to be accidental as Western Symphony (IRE) was hanging badly right-handed, despite Moore’s best efforts, carrying and bumping Pride Of England (GB) off its intended line for several strides.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Glide Down (USA), placed third, had lost its left hind shoe.
