Fergal O’Brien was asked to explain why he was running Faha Belle (IRE) here at Doncaster on going described as Good to Soft, Soft in places, having declared the mare a non-runner at Hereford on 4 January 2024 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer stated that, in his opinion, the ground at Hereford was firmer than described and had less grass cover than at Doncaster and he was therefore happy for Faha Belle (IRE) to take its chance on this occasion.
An enquiry was held to consider the unruly behaviour of Robeam (IRE) which had refused to race and was withdrawn by the Starter at 12.

The representative of Michael Mullineaux was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
As the gelding had been very reluctant to jump off at Southwell on 3 July 2023, forfeiting many lengths before being pulled up on that occasion, and has also refused to race at Worcester on 26 May 2023, Mullineaux was informed that any future similar behaviour from Robeam (IRE) may result in the horse being reported to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
Following the race, Daire Davis reported that Faha Belle (IRE), placed fourth, hung left-handed in the home straight.
