Permission was given for both Spanish Angel (IRE) and Imperial Khan (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final ½ furlong involving the winner, Latin Five (IRE), ridden by Graham Lee, Albegone (GB), placed second, ridden by Duran Fentiman, and High Opinion (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Joe Fanning.
The Stewards could not be satisfied that had High Opinion (GB) had an uninterrupted run to the line it would have finished in front of either Latin Five (IRE) or Albegone (GB) with the interference occurring close to the line and High Opinion (GB) being beaten approximately 1½ lengths.
The Stewards therefore ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
The interference was found to be accidental in that Latin Five (IRE) edged slightly left-handed at the same time as Albegone (GB) shifted right-handed causing High Opinion (GB) to be crowded for room and Fanning having to take a check.
