The winner United Force (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Newmarket on 19 July 2024 where the gelding finished eleventh of thirteen runners, beat 22 ½ lengths.
It was noted that the Clare Hobson could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form.
Approximately 1 ½ furlongs out, Premiership (GB), unplaced, shifted left-handed at the same time as Medician Star (IRE), placed fourth, shifted right-handed, causing Flying Panther (GB), placed third, to be briefly tight for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, George Margarson reported that Twilight Guest (GB), unplaced, was unsuited by the Going on this occasion, which was officially described as Good to Firm and would prefer slower.
