The winner, Joly Maker (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Southwell on 23 July 2019, where the gelding finished fifth of eight, beaten 24? lengths.
Jonjo O'Neill explained that Joly Maker (IRE) jumped more fluently on this occasion and that the yard appears to be coming back into form.
The gelding was routine tested.
The performance of Dragon Khan (IRE), which started second favourite and finished last of six, was considered.
Rosemary Gasson explained that the gelding would prefer a sounder surface over fences.

Following the race, the representative of Joanne Foster reported that Two Hoots (IRE), placed fifth, was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Soft (Good to Soft in Places) on this occasion, and would prefer a quicker surface.
