Permission was given for Lippy Lady (IRE) and Camassia (IRE) to go early to post.
Approaching the two-furlong marker and at the point of the cutaway, Lippy Lady (IRE), placed seventh, which was running keenly, improved onto the heels of Ahthatsgrand (IRE), unplaced, causing the rider to have to take a severe check, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Lippy Lady (IRE).
Upon leaving the stalls, Pump It Up (GB), drawn 10, jumped sharply left-handed making contact with Send In The Clouds (GB), drawn 9, which in turn bumped Champagne Highlife (GER), drawn 8, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Pump It Up (GB).
The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Celestial Point (IRE), which had never previously been placed, was considered.
Gary Moore's explanation that the filly had strengthened up after a 251 day break and, in his opinion, the caliber of this race was weak, was noted; Celestial Point was routine tested.
The performance of Dew You Believe (IRE), which finished unplaced, was considered.
The representative of Ed Dunlop explained that the gelding was unsuited by the undulations of the track at Brighton; his explanation was noted.
Following the race, Jason Hart reported that Lippy Lady (IRE), ran too free, Charlie Bennett reported that Fields Of Berries (GB), unplaced, ran too free, and Kieran O'Neill reported that Camassia (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away.
