An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 ½ furlongs out involving Isobar Wind (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Oisin Murphy, Sparkling Breeze (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Andrew Mullen and Samsar (IRE), placed seventh, ridden by Laura Coughlan.
Coughlan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding for allowing her mount to drift left-handed without sufficient correction causing interference to Sparkling Breeze (GB), which in turn shifted left-handed carrying Isobar Wind (IRE), off its intended line.
Being a 7Ib claimer, Coughlan was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
The performance of Isobar Wind (IRE), which started favourite and finished fifth, was considered.
David Evans could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
Following the race, John Egan reported that BUTTERLY POSE (IRE), which finished last of the ten runners, stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that the filly lost its right hind shoe.
