Permission was given for Spreadsheet (IRE) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Rocketeer (GB), unplaced, ridden by Dougie Costello and trained by Mike Murphy, the gelding jumped well from the stalls and tracked the leaders before appearing to be tenderly ridden in the home straight, finishing seventh of eight, beaten by 9 lengths.
The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the race.
The rider stated that his instructions were to sit in behind the leaders and settle the gelding as Rocketeer (GB) can be free.
He added that turning into the home straight he felt that the gelding had little left to give and weakened inside the final furlong.
He further explained that having ridden at a light weight today, he was feeling the effects.
The Stewards noted his explanation.
Following the race, Shane Kelly reported that Momtathil (GB), placed fourth, reared as the stalls opened, Charlie Bennett reported that Spreadsheet (IRE), placed third, hung left-handed throughout and the Veterinary Officer reported that Bring The Money (IRE), unplaced, lost its right fore shoe.
