Permission was given for Cherry Cola (GB) to go early to post; for Spring Glow (GB) to wear a red hood in the parade ring and for Postwick (GB) to wear a red hood to post.

The Raceday privilege request in relation to Percy Jones (GB), trained by Hughie Morrison, to go early to post was not submitted.

Morrison was warned as to his responsibility to ensure that all Raceday privilege requests are submitted by 1pm on the day before racing.

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race when the winner Percy Jones (GB), ridden by Benoit de la Sayette interfered with Fairmac (GB), placed second, ridden by Franny Norton inside the final furlong.

Having heard their evidence, the Stewards considered the interference had not improved the placing of Percy Jones (GB) as although Fairmac (GB) was taken slightly off its intended line initially, thereafter Fairmac (GB) independently rolled down the camber towards the rail, never losing any momentum as a result and was always losing ground to Percy Jones (GB) on the run to the line after the interference had occurred therefore the Stewards deemed the placings to remain unaltered.

The interference was found to be accidental as despite de le Sayette’s best efforts Percy Jones (GB) continued to roll left-handed down the camber taking Fairmac (GB) marginally off its intended line.

Following the race Trevor Whelan reported that Cherry Cola (GB), unplaced, reared leaving the stalls and was therefore slowly away.

Alan King reported that Caramelised (GB), placed fifth, was unsuited by the undulating nature of the track.
