Permission was given for Saras Hope (GB) to go early to post.

The Raceday privilege request in relation to Saras Hope (GB), trained by John Gallagher, was late being submitted.

Gallagher was warned as to his responsibility to ensure that all Raceday privilege requests are submitted before 1pm on the day before racing.

Gaia Boni, the rider of Somewhere Secret (GB), drawn 5, was slow to remove the blindfold.

After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Boni's explanation that the trainer had instructed her to remove the blindfold as late as possible and although it was marginally late, the gelding jumped with the rest of the field and did not lose any ground, was accepted.

Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, Boni was accompanied in the enquiry by a BHA Jockey Coach.

The Stewards held an enquiry to consider why John Shinnick, the rider of Sound Reason (GB), which finished third, had appeared to stop riding half a furlong out.

As a 7lb claiming apprentice, Shinnick was accompanied in the enquiry by a BHA Jockey Coach.

Having heard his evidence and viewed recordings of the race, they found that he had mistaken the ½ furlong marker for the winning post and had stopped riding for 3 strides, thus losing momentum before rallying to be beaten a neck for second place.

Shinnick was found in breach of Rule (F)37 and guilty of failing to ride out on a horse that could have finished second and was suspended for 7 days.
