The Stewards enquired into the riding of Rebel Ivy, ridden by D.F. O'Regan, in the home straight where he appeared to run the wrong side of a direction post and the rider failed to pull up in the circumstances. The rider reported that the incident happened so quickly with the horse falling on the flat in front of him that he hadn't time to correct his mount and bring her the correct side of the direction post. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards disqualified Rebel Ivy, in accordance with Rule 215 (ii) and cautioned the rider for a breach of Rule 215(i)
The result now reads; 1st Shantreusse 2nd Eye Van 3rd Mohishter Are Mwee 4th Sweet Street D.N. Russell, rider of Mr Fred Rogers, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stumbled and fell independently on the flat in the home straight.
