Permission was given for Winklemann (IRE) to go early to post and Ragstone View (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start.
The Clerk of the Scales objected to the winner, Kodiac Pride (GB), ridden by Kaia Ingolfsland and trained by Sir Mark Prescott Bt, on the grounds of the rider weighing in at 8st 8lbs, having weighed out at 10st 5lbs.
Kodiac Pride (GB) was disqualified and the placings were revised as follows: First, Juanito Chico (IRE); Second, Arafi (GB); Third, In The Cove (IRE); Fourth, Ragstone View (IRE).
The rider, the representative of the trainer and the Clerk of the Scales were interviewed.
The representative of the trainer’s explanation that the weight cloth had accidentally slipped off Kodiac Pride (GB) approximately 1½ furlongs out was accepted, with the Stewards having noted during the race that the lead bag appeared to come adrift from the gelding and video coverage confirming the incident.
Following the race, Oliver Searle reported that Biotic (GB), unplaced, was slowly away and outpaced and Elisha Whittington reported that Baltic Prince (IRE), unplaced, stumbled leaving the stalls.
