- Stewards Report
At the request of the Integrity Department of the British Horseracing Authority, the connections of Blowing Dixie (GB) were interviewed by the Stewards before this race and asked to provide information regarding the selection of the race for the gelding, their expectations for today and the riding instructions given.
Their comments were noted.
The winner, Blowing Dixie (GB), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Southwell on 27 November 2020 where the gelding finished eighth of nine, beaten by 25¼ lengths.
Iain Jardine’s explanation that Blowing Dixie (GB) appeared to benefit from a 72-day break, was noted.
The gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Joey Haynes reported that Drew Breeze (IRE), which started second-favourite and finished fifth, was never travelling, Paul Mulrennan reported that Cheap Jack (GB), placed eighth, moved poorly in the final two furlongs and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
