The second winner in two days for trainer Mick Cullen after his point to point winner Bella Mana Mou won this comfortably, in the end. Kilkenny All Star moved through to lead entering the straight and looked the most likely winner. However, Bella Mana Mou took over in front before two out and stayed on well for a seven length win.

According to Cullen, the mare wants softish ground and may go for the three mile novice handicap hurdle at the Fairyhouse Festival next.

Kilkenny All Star has a rating of 102 following four hurdle runs and ran another sound race, despite failing to quicken in the straight. He should pick up a similar race soon while a similar comment applies to The Level, who has shown ability in bumpers.

Favourite Reens Pike, a point to point winner last season, disappointed slightly. The gelding failed to pick up when asked and could never get into serious contention but cannot be ruled out in the future, depending on what handicap mark he gets.

Midnight Minnie, an unlucky loser at Punchestown lats time out, attempted to make all but weakened after three out while Glann Boy has shown ability in the past but was never in contention here.

Degella jumped poorly and was pulled up at after halfway while Battlefront weakened quickly before four out and was found to have mucus in his lungs.

Non-runners were Gold Sequin (stone bruise) and two reserves.
