The Clerk of the Scales objected to NORSE LEGEND, placed third, ridden by Harry Kimber and trained by Colin Tizzard on the grounds of the rider weighing in at 10 stone 2 Ibs having weighed out at 11 stone 2 Ibs. NORSE LEGEND was disqualified and the placings were revised as follows: First, VANGO DE VAIGE (FR), Second, TEA TIME FRED, Third, THREE STAR GENERAL and Fourth, MIRO (IRE). The rider, the trainer's representative, a member of the trainer's staff and the Clerk of the Scales were interviewed. As the Stewards were unable to establish an explanation for the weight difference Harry Kimber was suspended for 2 days and Colin Tizzard was fined A#500.
Objection by the Clerk of the Scales to NORSE LEGEND, placed third, for weighing in light.
Objection sustained. NORSE LEGEND disqualified from third place.
The Veterinary Officer reported that AVITHOS, placed sixth, lost its right hind shoe.
