The winner, FRERE D’ARMES (FR) appeared to show an improvement in form, compared with its previous run at Ascot on 23 November 2024, where the gelding finished seventh of eight beaten 33½ lengths.
Dan Skelton explained that the gelding may have appreciated the drop in grade from a Class 2 to a Class 3 on this occasion.
His explanation was noted.
The performance of Lunar Contact (IRE), which was pulled up, was considered.
The representative of Tom Ellis explained that the gelding was never travelling on this occasion and may have been unsuited by the step up in grade to a Class 3 having previously contested a Class 5.
Following the race, Fern O’Brien reported that Planned Paradise (IRE), which was pulled up, was never travelling.
