The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident rounding the home bend involving Hubrisko (FR), ridden by J.B

Foley, placed second, and Salvador Ziggy, ridden by D.J Gilligan, placed first, where it appeared Hubrisko ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.B. Foley stated that on jumping the third last he was joined by the winner, who on passing him tightened him for room forcing him to check. D.J. Gilligan stated that his horse lugged right on passing Hubrisko, but thought he was clear at that point. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found D. J. Gilligan, in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two racedays.
