An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following interference jumping the final hurdle involving Blue Collar Glory (IRE), placed second, ridden by Fergus Gregory and EVA’S DIVA (IRE), placed third, ridden by Richard Patrick.
Having heard evidence from both riders and viewed recordings of the incident, it was established that Eva's Diva (IRE) had made up approximately 4 lengths on Blue Collar Glory (IRE) from entering the home straight to only be half a length down jumping the final hurdle, where it was badly hampered after receiving heavy contact from Blue Collar Glory (IRE) jumping left-handed into its path.
The Stewards were satisfied that the interference suffered by EVA’S DIVA (IRE) was particularly significant and completely halted that mare's momentum before being beaten half a length and considered that had Eva's Diva (IRE) had an uninterrupted run to the line from the last hurdle, she would’ve finished in front of Blue Collar Glory (IRE) and ordered the placings to be revised as follows: First: Midnight Callisto (GB) Second: EVA’S DIVA (IRE), Third: Blue Collar Glory (IRE), Fourth: Crystal Gazing (GB).
The interference was found to be accidental in that Blue Collar Glory (IRE) had jumped left-handed on take-off thereby causing interference.
