No shortage of pace here with Outlaw Princess just winning the battle for supremacy up front with Lakil Princess. The shape of the race was always likely to set it up for one of the others and Davy Russell sized it up well as he produced CLEW BAY COVE to land in front over the last. He stayed on strongly on the run-in as early exertions told on some of his rivals, and may be aimed for something similar at the upcoming Fairyhouse Festival.

FOUR CHIMNEYS appeared to be going best as the field grouped up at the third last, and he was left in front as POM FLYER blundered and unseated his rider two out. However he could find no more when challenged by the winner at the last. Pom Flyer, backed from 5/1 to 4/1, repeatedly jumped to the left and is proving a frustrating and expensive sort to follow.

OUTLAW PRINCESS probably went too quick and was beaten before three out, while LAKIL PRINCESS stuck it out better but could find no extra from before the last.

SHER BEAU, without a victory in over two years, was trying a shorter trip and could only keep on one paced without every really threatening. The handicapper is starting to give him a chance but the Grade 2 winner remains a disappointing sort considering the high hopes held out earlier in his career.
