The winner, Knocknamona (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Hexham on 8 December 2021 where the gelding was pulled up.
Micky Hammond’s representative’s explanation that the gelding was ridden more patiently on this occasion, was noted.
Knocknamona (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Ryan Mania reported that Shaka The King (IRE), which was pulled up, was never travelling and had not jumped fluently; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Shaka The King (IRE) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The Veterinary Officer also reported that Darius Des Sources (FR), which was pulled up, had lost its right-fore shoe and Folks Like Us (IRE), unplaced, was lame left-fore.
