MANHATTAN BEACH, in hindsight, was a remarkable price to win this, following a good run at The Curragh last weekend. This race was a drop in class and, although she tied up in the closing stages, never really looked like being beaten. According to winning trainer Enda Kelly "MANHATTAN BEACH could be a decent filly and is extremely laid back. She has a lovely pedigree and could be decent. She may go for a conditions race next and could end up being a Listed or Group 3 filly at the backend of the year. She adores heavy ground."

HOUSE REBEL made a decent debut at Galway on his only run as a juvenile and ran well to take second. He should prove difficult to beat in a similar race next time out.

SHAUNA'S PRINCESS ran well. The filly chased the leaders and stayed on well in the straight. With the benefit of this run behind her, she will prove difficult to beat on her next run.

LADY ALICIA, withdrawn at The Curragh last Sunday having reared up and fallen over when attempting to load, again caused trouble at the start. Credit to jockey Pat Smullen and his persistence for getting her to load today and once in, she jumped out smartly. She did not disgrace in fourth but does need to step up a little and is possibly best watched for her next few runs.

RED PUMA stayed on well along the rail to take a never nearer fifth, under a 10lb claiming rider. She is now eligible for handicaps and appears to have sufficient ability to win an average handicap.
