CHELSY made a winning start to her three-year-old season and this big filly looks the type to progress. Wayne Lordan produced her with a strong run at the furlong pole to forge to the front and she galloped on strongly to hold Almass at bay.

Winning trainer Eddie Lynam revealed that the daughter of Statue Of Liberty was given a break after jarring herself on her first outing early last season. Her two subsequent runs were decent efforts and she looks to have progressed again here.

Almass is a much smaller type and probably hasn't grown much over the winter. She was well-supported (7/4 to 11/8f) to get off the mark but just found one too good.

She had some good form as a juvenile but doesn't looks to have progressed and a maiden at a smaller track may be her limit.

The one to take out of the race may be Ashka who stayed on strongly in the closing stages after fluffing the start badly.

She had only one behind turning in but weaved her way into fourth over a furlong out and was not knocked about to keep on for third.

She also failed to jump well when well beaten on the second of her two juvenile starts and obviously needs to overcome this tendency.

The well-bred Evita Evita, a daughter of Group 1 winner Eva Luna, was badly hampered by Ashka at the start and failed to get involved while Leo's Girl was also affected at the start.

The Hillaries showed significant improvement, leading until over a furlong out and finishing a commendable fourth.

Knowing Wink failed to keep up Dermot Weld's good run here. She was ridden to go fifth about a furlong out but had no more to offer.

The non-runner Promise Of Love was in season.
