William Buick, the rider of Callisto Moon (GB), drawn 6, had appeared not to keep straight from the stalls.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Buick explained that Callisto Moon (GB) had been very unruly in the stalls and therefore in expectation of the filly potentially rearing again, he was not correctly positioned in the saddle, giving him the option of getting to safety quickly.
However, then when the stalls opened the filly blasted out quickly and veered several horse widths left-handed, despite him making an attempt to stay straighter, which was restricted by him not being fully balanced.
His explanation was accepted.
Approximately 1 furlong out, the winner, Eshtora, shifted right-handed whilst racing greenly briefly carrying Mashaaer (IRE), placed second, wider off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved, nor had it improved the placing of Eshtora.
Following the race, Georgia Dobie reported that Kharshuf (USA), unplaced, was fractious in the stalls and Stevie Donohoe reported that Mashaaer (IRE), placed second, reared leaving the stalls and was slowly away.
