The winner, Rockesbury (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Great Yarmouth on 25 August 2020 where the gelding finished ninth of fourteen, beaten by 17 lengths.
Phil McEntee’s representative’s explanation that Rockesbury (GB) had benefitted from the reapplication of blinkers as well as by a return to an all-weather surface was noted.
Rockesbury (GB) was routine tested.
On the run to the line, Frow (IRE), placed fifth, lugged quickly right-handed before being quickly corrected by its rider, causing Mrs Benson (IRE), placed eighth, to be hampered, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Frow (IRE).
Following the race, Joey Haynes reported that Frow (IRE), placed fifth, ran too freely; the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding lost its left-fore shoe.
Edward Greatrex reported that Itmakesyouthink (GB), unplaced, stopped quickly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding shortly after the race failed to reveal any abnormalities.
