The winner, Dark Optimist (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Newbury on 18 May 2019 where the colt finished last of the eight runners, beaten 6 ¾ lengths.
David Evans’ explanation that Dark Optimist (IRE) benefited from the fitting of a tongue tie and drop in class on this occasion, was noted.
The colt was routine tested.
Following the race Charles Bishop reported that Born To Destroy (GB), placed third, hung right-handed in the closing stages.
