The Stewards enquired into an incident early in the home straight involving Gulf Of Mexico, ridden by E.J

McNamara, Hiawatha, ridden by W.J. Lee, Hippodrome, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, and Village Voice (GB), ridden by C.T. Keane where it appeared Gulf of Mexico hung badly off the home turn causing interference to several horses. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. E.J. McNamara stated his mount was in front a long time and was being lairy in hanging right off the home turn, he felt he reacted quickly and that he did his best to prevent the incident. W.J. Lee stated that he got a bump from his inside forcing him onto horses outside him. J.A

Heffernan stated that he also received a bump from his inside turning for home. C.T. Keane stated he was the sufferer of interference on his inside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the evidence and took no further action.
