Permission was given for Persuasive Powers (GB) to go early to post.
The winner, Night Bear (GB) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Leicester on 2 July 2022, where the gelding finished fourth of five beaten by 14 lengths.
It was noted that Tony Carroll could provide no explanation for the gelding’s improved form on this occasion.
The performance of Dogged (GB) which started favourite and finished sixth, was considered.
Kevin Stott reported that the gelding stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Dogged (GB), during routine testing, revealed that the gelding had an irregular heartbeat.
