Permission was given for Cracked Up (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1½ furlongs out involving MICHAEL’S PLEDGE (IRE), placed second, ridden by Dale Swift and A Day To Dream (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Graham Lee.
Swift was suspended for 5 days for careless riding as he failed to take sufficient steps to keep his horse straight causing A Day To Dream (IRE) to clip heels and stumble slightly.
Elle-May Croot, the rider of Funky Town Pinkie (GB), had fallen when approaching the line.
Croot was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
The fall was caused by the rider initially going into a narrowing gap between MICHAEL’S PLEDGE (IRE), placed second, and the winner, Visitant (GB), then when switching out from behind runners, her mount caught the heel of Visitant (GB), causing Funky Town Pinkie (GB) to stumble and fall.
Having reviewed the footage, the Stewards were satisfied that there was no riding offence involved.
Following the race, Cam Hardie reported that Desert Quest (IRE), unplaced, hung left-handed under pressure.
