Permission was given for Innisfree Pearl (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Approaching half a mile out, Fascinating Lips (IRE), placed fifth, shifted left-handed at the same time as Fen Tiger (IRE), placed second edged marginally right-handed, on the left-hand turn, which caused the winner, INNISFREE REARL, to be momentarily short of room and make contact with Fen Tiger (IRE), but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Luke Catton reported that Irezumi (GB), placed fourth, was slowly away and Jim Boyle reported that The Conqueror (GER), unplaced, was unsuited by the going, officially described as Soft, Good to Soft (in places) and would prefer a quicker surface.
