Permission was given for Kharbetation (IRE) and Sands Chorus (GB) to go early to post.

The Starter reported that Sands Chorus (GB) was the subject of a third criteria failure.

Scott Dixon was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.

An enquiry was held into an incident involving Alfa McGuire (IRE), after the rider, Sam James reported the gelding was restless in the stalls.

The Starters, the rider, the Veterinary Surgeon, the Veterinary Officer and the Clerk of the Course representing the Management Executive were interviewed.

The rider stated that the gelding had reared in the stalls and slipped onto its hind quarters but having quickly regained its footing, he liaised with the Starters, and had no concerns over the gelding’s participation.

The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Alfa McGuire (IRE) failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Having heard their evidence, they noted their explanations and a report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.

Following the race, Sam James reported that Alfa McGuire (IRE), placed seventh, was restless in the stalls and Joe Fanning reported that Dr Richard Kimble (IRE), placed eighth, was never travelling; the Veterinary Officer reported that an examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
