The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Crafted Mastery, trained by Mrs D.A.Love, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. The Stewards requested a report from Lester Winters, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Jeremy's Girl, placed second, as compared with its previous run. The trainer reported that Jeremy's Girl reappeared recently at the Curragh after a 29 month absence on good to yielding ground where she jumped out smartly but led on a strong pace and tired quickly whereas today she was racing on her preferred heavy ground and raced in front at a steady pace. He added that her two previous victories at Naas and Down Royal were achieved on heavy ground similar to today's conditions. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards (85 = 10st)
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won. Any horse rated above 85 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 10st. Subsequently, the excess over 85 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any three year old rated above 85 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
