Permission was given for The Defiant (GB) to go early to post.
Prior to this race, Iain Jardine was asked to explain the reason why he was running Gunnabedun here at Thirsk on going described as Good to Firm, having reported that the gelding would prefer a softer surface following her run on Good to Firm ground at Musselburgh on 13 May 2019.
The trainer stated the gelding was running as the part-owner was keen to let the gelding take its chance.
Fairy Fast (IRE) finished second at Nottingham yesterday, 2 June 2019.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a pre-race examination of the filly deemed her fit to race.
Following the race, Eric Alston reported that Lady Kinsale (GB), unplaced, was unsuited by the Good to Firm ground and would prefer a slower surface.
