The Veterinary Officer reported that Shouldvebeenaring (GB), trained by Richard Hannon, was a grey and not a bay as published in the racecard.
Approximately 1 furlong after the start a free running Star Of Lady M (GB), placed third, hung right-handed carrying Al Karrar (IRE), placed fourth, slightly off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Star Of Lady M (GB).
The performance of Al Karrar (IRE) which started favourite and finished fourth of six runners, was considered.
Tom Clover’s explanation that the colt did not handle the undulations of the track on this occasion was noted; the Veterinary officer reported that a post-race examination of the filly failed to reveal any abnormalities.
