The performance of Evasive Power (USA), which started joint-favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
The representative of Robyn Brisland could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance other than Nicola Currie reporting that Evasive Power (USA) was never travelling.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Inside the final furlong, the winner, Hagia Sophia (GB), drifted slightly right-handed away from the whip, causing the rider of Swiss Pride (IRE), placed fifth, to ease his mount, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Hagia Sophia (GB).
Following the race, Harry Davies reported that Swiss Pride (IRE), placed fifth, was slowly away.
Callum Hutchinson reported that The Cola Kid (GB), unplaced, was slowly away and never travelling; the representative of Grace Harris further reported that the gelding was unsuited by the undulations of the track and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination revealed The Cola Kid (GB) finished lame on its right-fore.
