An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong involving the winner, Hearitfortheboys (IRE), ridden by Richard Kingscote and Dark Dreamer (GB), placed second, ridden by Tom Marquand; Saffie Osborne the rider of Chiedozie (GB), placed fourth, was also interviewed but found not to be involved.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Hearitfortheboys (IRE) as although Hearitfortheboys (IRE) shifted marginally left-handed causing Dark Dreamer (GB) to become short of room, the gelding lost no momentum and was always being held by Hearitfortheboys (IRE), with the official winning distance being a neck.
Kingscote was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his horse to shift marginally left-handed causing Dark Dreamer (GB) to become short of room.
