Approximately 2½ furlongs out , I Love You Baby (GB), unplaced, became unbalanced and shifted quickly right-handed causing Exceed Loose (GB), placed fourth, to be switched right-handed to avoid heels, which in turn badly hampered Geizy Teizy, placed third, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Ben Curtis reported that Saikung (IRE), placed sixth, ran too freely.
