Ivesceneaspider (GB) reared several times in the Parade Ring.
Having been checked by the Veterinary Surgeon at the start, the gelding was deemed fit to race.
An enquiry was held into the circumstances surrounding the false start.
The Starter, Clerk of the Course, Head Groundsman, Senior Doctor, and two Doctors were interviewed.
The Doctor explained that as the horses were lining up for the start of the race, he was informed by the driver of the vehicle that the car was not starting, so informed the Starters of this.
The Starter explained that on being made aware that the Doctors would not be able to follow the runners, he called for a false start, shortly after which the car started, and the start was effected successfully on the second attempt.
